Grief in Motion: The Loss of our Beloved Animals with heart2heartnc

Grief in Motion is a unique, holistic, and body-centered workshop that explores the heartache and healing that often accompanies a journey of loss and change. All forms of grief are welcome here.

Do you know your grief? Can you recognize it - locate it - name it - be with it - release it. Are you curious what elements of grief are living within you?

Join us as we cultivate specific practices that help us find ease in our bodies and minds. Our time together includes guided movements taken from the Kundalini yoga tradition, breath-work, stillness, and conversation, plus live music and sound.

Whether you are grieving the loss of a pet or making the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye, this special Grief in Motion event will honor the love and connection we share with our beloved companions. In addition to our time together practicing  various healing mind and body modalities, we will be joined by Dr. Lydia Scheidler, a veterinarian and owner of Softer Path Vet, an in-home euthanasia practice. Dr. Scheidler will share how we can reduce pain, anxiety, and fear around your beloved pet's death in a peaceful and compassionate way.

Movements are tailored to support the strong emotions associated with grief that we undergo in the body and the mind. We will explore prescriptive breathwork, which will help us relax physically and mentally, as well as restore the relaxation response in our central nervous system, to counter the effects of hyperarousal that can be brought on by grief.

This recalibration allows us to build new neural pathways to prevent our minds from falling into old patterns of physical and emotional pain. We will also include periods of stillness that allow for integration of the physical and emotional work. These sessions conclude with a voluntary opportunity to share for those who wish to do so.

heart2heart believes that these modalities of healing are important and accessible to all humans seeking to heal their sorrows and to remember their sacred path in life.

$25. Partial scholarships are available - please choose the $10 option at checkout if you require a scholarship.
