The Gift of Growth by Lexie Wolf

This holiday season, I’ve gifted myself something truly special: eight private sessions with a wonderful teacher to deepen my practice and personal growth. My teacher created a personalized Sadhana—a daily set of practices for me to commit to every morning for 40 days. We meet weekly on Zoom to reflect on my progress and explore what’s arising through the practice (and let me tell you, it’s a lot!).

My Sadhana blends my regular morning meditation with a series of Himalayan Kriyas. Often called the Yoga of Energy, Kriya practices are powerful tools for transformation. They include intentional visualizations, focused awareness, dynamic body movements, mantras (chants), mudras (hand gestures), and breathwork. These elements work together to awaken energy, clear blockages, and accelerate personal growth in profound ways. As I dive deeper into this practice, I continue to appreciate its impact. If you’re curious to explore Kriya Yoga, Bill and I guide a weekly class every Saturday at 11 a.m.—come join us!

As you think about gifts for your loved ones this season, I encourage you to reflect on what you need too. What would bring you joy or peace right now? Maybe it’s saying “no” to an invitation that doesn’t spark excitement. Or perhaps it’s granting yourself the gift of grace and forgiveness. Remember, you can’t pour from an empty cup, so take time to nourish yourself.

If there’s a way Yoga Garden can support you on your journey, we’re here for you. We’re excitedly planning fresh classes and offerings for January, with our winter schedule coming out soon. And if you’re interested in private instruction, check out the new page on our website which will help you navigate that.
